Start with device responsibility
Decide whether the buyer will nominate an existing tracker, supply a device for integration or ask the project team to review a compatible format. Record the device dimensions, antenna position, charging method, operating instructions and any supplier documentation. The bag manufacturer can develop the enclosure and access around an agreed device, but should not be assumed to provide location software, connectivity subscriptions or network coverage unless those services are separately specified.
Choose a serviceable mounting position
The tracker needs a defined location that supports the intended signal path while protecting it from normal handling. Compare a removable pocket, secured sleeve or project-specific holder according to device shape and user access. Check that the position does not create a pressure point, block a main compartment, sit directly against easily damaged contents or require destructive stitching to replace the unit.
Map power and user access
For a rechargeable device, the brief should show whether charging happens inside or outside the bag and how the port or cable is reached. For a replaceable battery, define the access opening and how the device is retained after servicing. Sampling should also review cable routing, loose components and whether the user can remove the tracker without disturbing the lining or load.
Separate bag checks from tracking claims
Bag evaluation can cover holder fit, removal, closure security, carrying comfort and the condition of surrounding seams after normal handling. Signal range, positioning accuracy, battery duration, application behaviour and market compatibility depend on the selected electronics and service. Any performance wording should therefore be tied to documented device information and an agreed verification method rather than a general “GPS bag” claim.
Build the sample around real use
Provide the actual device or an accurate dimensional sample before the holder is finalized. Review the loaded bag, intended carry position, device access and charging routine during sampling. If several bag styles share one tracker, confirm whether one holder construction works across different lining depths and panel shapes instead of assuming a single pocket will fit every model.
Prepare a quotation-ready integration brief
Send the bag format, target user, device model and dimensions, device-supply responsibility, mounting preference, power access, removal requirement, target market, branding, packaging and estimated quantity. Add drawings or photos showing the preferred position. This gives the manufacturer enough information to review pattern impact, added components, sampling scope and quotation factors without treating the guide as a substitute for a project-specific technical review.
